Long Wait time of Shimla-Kalka Toy Train, which gives enough time to appreciate the beauty of Himachal Pradesh

It took 7 Hrs to reach Kalka by Toy-Train from Shimla. Normal buses takes 3:30 Hrs and time may increase by 30 mins, if there is traffic jam near Kalka... Toy-Trains move very slow and it has to stop at many stops in between to give passage to train coming from other direction. Personally I loved this journey because I had planned my full day for this only and stopping at these beautiful stations was a very different and learning experience....

 

Longest wait time @ Sonwara Station : Its a beautiful place.. train stopped here for 40 minutes and I went up the hill to see other surrounding areas... There were beautiful fields with yellow mustard flowers... I came back after 25 minutes and spent 15 minutes watching people activites at railway station..

There is approximately 2 Hrs of total wait time between Shimla and Kalka...

Another waiting stop @ Solan Railway Station.

This is first time this train stopped at Kathleeghat which comes after 6 railway Stations and the journey with small stoppages start from this point... As you can see, many of the passengers are avoiding to get out of the train and after this, it was a normal to immediately step out as the train stops anywhere....

Long wait is over and our train is ready to start for stopping again on some other station :) Bbyee Kathleeghat....

Salogara Railway Station.... Least wait time of 10 minutes :-)
