Sarvana Bhavan at Connaught Place, Delhi, India || Popular Restaurant for South Indian Food

Few days back one of my friend told me about Sarvana Bhavan in Connaught place and we though of having lunch at the same place. It's just opposite to Janpath Market near CP, Delhi. Let's have a quick Photo Journey to Sarvana Bhavan in Connaught Place with some information about it's food and specialties...Welcome to Sarvana Bhavan. As you know, all popular places in Delhi are usually crowded. So the story of our lunch also started with waiting time for 25 minutes. And after a long wait we had to share the table. Since my friend was crazy about the South Indian food here, I simply followed the trends if Sarvana Bhavan. Otherwise I would have spent those 25 mins in locating some other good place which could offer comfortable seating at least. Here is what exactly we saw inside Sarvana Bhavan. Both of the floors were full of people and seating were extremely tight. There was hardly any space between the tables. It seemed that they get lot of customers daily and available real-estate need to be utilized in such a way.Place is fine for young and old age folks, but if someone want to visit the place with children, I would want to warn them. Waiting for 20 minutes at least and then getting into a tight space and get out of the space after finishing your food - This whole cycle will suffocate the kids with you. As there is no place for them to enjoy inside Sarvana Bhavan.Anyway, it was time to look at the menu and decide on items we wanted to have for Lunch. I got the reasoning behind the popularity and spacing problem. Their charges were very nominal. But I was expecting lovely south Indian food at same time. Let's see how it goes...We were sharing our table with this interesting couple, who ordered very unique items in lunch. They took enough time to look at all the items in Menu and then decided to have a special thali and Paper masala Dosa, with salted Dahi-Vada after main meal.Overall place was clean and comfortable, if we forget about the spacing. It's a completely air conditioned restaurant, which serve almost every South Indian Dish. Service was again good, as one person was dedicated for each row, who was only involved for taking order and making sure that no one is waiting for any type of service. Most of them communicate in South Indian Language(s)...We ordered on simple Thali and a Butter Rava Masala Dosa. I failed to notice anything good about the food here. South Indian at Sagar Ratna is far better that Sarvana Bhavan, but not sure why it's name is so popular. If you are reading this post and like Sarvana Bhavan food, please comment back and share about the things you like at this place. When we were waiting for our order to come, uncle and aunti were discussing about Sarvana Bhavan in Lajpat Nagar and they were really impressed by the food there. At the same time uncle received 4-5 calls and informed everyone that he is in CP Sarvana Bhavan with his wife. Here come our simple thali with a two Masala Dosas, Sambhar, Coconut chutney, one Subzi & some rasam. And yes, Sweet halva was also part of this thali. Food was ok, but not something great or special... Give an option, I will never com back to this place and would love to go to Sagar ratna for real taste of South Indian Food. After having food expressions were really like this. Uncle was really disappointed with food and also gave the same feedback to manager on second floor. Although, Manager's expressions were saying that he was not bothered much about what the gentleman explained to him.Sarvana Bhavan is good for one time experience and then decide yourself :)

Although, Manager's expressions were saying that he was not bothered much about what the gentleman explained to him.Sarvana Bhavan is good for one time experience and then decide yourself :)

When we were waiting for our order to come, uncle and aunti were discussing about Sarvana Bhavan in Lajpat Nagar and they were really impressed by the food there. At the same time uncle received 4-5 calls and informed everyone that he is in CP Sarvana Bhavan with his wife.

And yes, Sweet halva was also part of this thali. Food was ok, but not something great or special... Give an option, I will never com back to this place and would love to go to Sagar ratna for real taste of South Indian Food. After having food expressions were really like this.
