(G-Rik) Green Wheels between Select City Walk Mall, Saket and Malviya Nagar Metro Station of Delhi, India || MobileGIRI

Recently Delhi's Chief Minister Sheila Dixit launched Green-Wheel Service at Saket. This is about running eco-friendly, battery powered & pollution free vehicles. Last weekend, I was at Select City Walk Mall of Saket and opted for Green-Wheel to reach Malviya Nagar Metro Station. Let's go through this Photo JOurney and know more about this lovely ride...As of now these are only launched in Saket and they run between Saket Malls & Malviya Nagar Metro Station. These Green-Wheels can be seen parked outisde Malviya Nagar Metro Station and Select City Walk Mall in Saket. They charge 20 Rs for one side and two people can sit at one point of time. Which means 10 rs per person, which is quite reasonable. Plan is to expand this service in other metro stations soon. Commuting from Malviya Nagar Metro to Saket Malls was one of the tedious thing. In fact, some time back when I went to Select City Walk via metro, I was surprised to know that Malviya Nagar Metro station is near as compared to Saket Station. Even the distance between Malviya Nagar and Saket malls is huge. So local transportation was one of the main pain point for folks commuting through Metro. G-Rik has solved this problem and hope that G-rik reach to other parts of Indian National Capital Region. These three-wheeler G-Riks were developed after extensive research and development by Green Wheels for over two years and has been fully customized to adapt to Indian conditions. Incidentally, Star Bus is the concessionaire for the first bus cluster launched in May 2011. At present, Delhi Metro runs feeder service as well on certain routes. This is besides the para-transit options like Gramin Sewa and autorickshaws. It's located just at the exit of Parking. There is a counter on the corner from where one needs to take ticket for G-Rik ride. It takes around 7 minutes to reach Malviya Nagar Metro Station from Saket Malls. It seems that plan is to have around 5000 G-Riks in Delhi during next 15 months, which needs investment of around 100 crores.
