Durga Puja is an annual Hindu festival in India South Asia that celebrates worship of the Hindu Devi Durga. Bengali hindu people celebrate this festival in hindu calendar in the month of 'AASSIN' of the begain winter. After the ritual of their ‘Pitra pachha Bisarjan’ begain Durga Puja festival with ‘MAHALAYA’.  Durga Puja festival known as the victory of Devi Durga over the evil buffalo demon Mahishasura, people calls ‘Mahishsurmardini’. 


On this day we welcome to devi Durga comes on earth with her four children named Lakshmi,Saraswati , Ganesha and Kartikeya. The ancient book ‘Puran’ says that the DEVI Durga comes on earth for four days,leaving of her husband lord Shiva’s(Durga is an aspect of Goddess Parvati) home for stay in fathers home on the earth.  Durga Puja is a widely celebrating festival in the India  & other countries of the world. In the Indian states of West Bengal and  Utter pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, where it is a five-day annual holiday, it is the biggest festival of the year.


The five-days celebration of Durga Puja is Panchami , Sashthi, Septami, Asthami, Navami & Dashmi. When Goddess Durga return her home back on last day Dashami, before that people do BARAN of Goddess Durga for her Bidai celebration by Paan, sweets & Sindur. On this purpose people celebrate by giving & eating sweets, roll-on SINDUR (one type of dry color)  to each other women those are married women.
