Trek to Malana from Kasol, Himachal Pradesh

After reading our most post on Kasol, lot of folks write to us about knowing more about Malana as well. Malana is quite familiar to many because of it's presence in many documentaries and other reasons. It's pretty different from rest of the world. The lifestyle, community, beliefs and democracy. All residents of Malana follow their customs and rules religiously. It's a trek through beautiful terrains around Parvati Valley.

Village has democratic administration and it's considered as world's oldest democracy. Malana also has few temples. Jamlu temple is made up of carved wood and looks beautiful.

Lot of folks plan a trek to Malana from Kasol and that's one of the most interesting things to do around Kasol. Kasol itself is a very small town and Malana has lot to explore & experience. People, their culture, temples and the brilliant landscapes all around.

If you liked this post and found it helpful, I would request you to follow these things when traveling -

- Manage your waste well and don’t litter
- Use dustbins. Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin.
- Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem.
- Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits.

- Don't play loud blaring music in forests of jungle camps. You are a guest in that ecosystem and disturbing the locals (humans and animals) is not polite
