Drive back to Bengaluru from Kannur through scenic Coorg || Kerala Diaries

After well spent week in different parts of Wayanad and Kannur, it was time to pack our bags and head towards Banglore to catch our flight to Delhi. We hired a taxi to drop us in Bengluru and it costed us 8.5K. We couldn't negotiate on cost because of different constraints, but managed to have a halt in Mysore to visit Mysore Palace. Our Flight had cancelled and the next flight gave us one day at Bengaluru. Because of flight changes, we also planned to leave in the morning from Kannur. After breakfast at our Homestay, we started the journey at 9:30am. Now our flight from Bengaluru was next morning at 7:45am. So we had full day without any worries. As we moved out of Kannur, the surroundings were comparatively boring and we suddenly started talking about Wayanad & it's beautiful landscapes. Now this discussion became the comparison analysis of Home stays, people we met and Wayanad vs Kannur.Somehow we enjoyed a lot at Wayanad and Kannur experience was average if we skip Theyyam festivities. Then we also thought that stay also matters a lot and both of our Wayanad homestays were awesome as compared to Kannur. The Kannur place was neither a homestay nor a resort. We are also planning to share detailed reviews of these places, so keep watching this place for more.On the way we realized that we missed buying the special banana chips. We requested our cab driver to stop an an appropriate place from where we could buy banana and tapiaco chips. We got some stuff and continued the drive towards Mysore.Driving through Koorg was an interesting experience. Coffee plantations all around with beautiful landscapes all around. The highway passing through colorful regions make the drive very interesting.Although a small stretch of this road was under maintenance. On the way, we planned to stop at Mysore to quickly visit Mysore Palace. There is a entry ticket of 40 rs and no charges for camera. But cameras are not allowed inside the the palace. Also one need to take off the shoes if you want to see interiors of the palace.Somehow we didn't find the place friendly and organized, and planned to skip the tour of interiors. Probably we shall visit it again sometime.Moved ahead from Mysore to Bengaluru. Suddenly we saw a series of Punjabi dhabas on this route. We were seeing posters with non south-Indian dishes :).Sky was getting clearer and by sunset time, it was completely clear. We hit Bengaluru at around 7:30pm. Ideally drive from Kannur to Banglore should take 8 hours including lunch break. It took approximately 1.5 hrs to travel 18 kilometers within the city.Other good medium to travel from Kannur to Bengaluru is Volvo. There is very good/frequent Volvo bus service between Mysore and Bengaluru. We were initially thinking of taking taxi till Mysore and then take volvo, but due to some unknowns we booked cab for the complete drive.

Probably next time, I would choose an overnight Volvo or train from Kannur to Bengaluru.
