Kareri Lake - A beautiful trek around Dhauladhar Mountain Ranges, India

Kareri Lake is a beautiful lake around Dhauladhar Mountain ranges. Fresh water of melting snow from Dhaudhar peaks is source of water in Kareri Lake and that's why you see such a pure & reflective surface in all photographs of this lake. Lake is located 10 kilometers away from Dharmshala.

Kareri lake is one of the popular trekking destination around Dhauladhars. There is a shiva temple near the lake. Kareri lake is also a base for some of the long & difficult treks into Dhauladhar mountain ranges. There are few treks to Chamba and Bharmaur.

One carry own tents while hiking to Kareri lake or can also stay in temple compound. There are few gaddi houses around the place.

One has to visit the place to really appreciate the natural beauty of Dhauladhars and it's lakes.

If you liked this post and found it helpful, I would request you to follow these things when traveling -

- Manage your waste well and don’t litter
- Use dustbins. Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin.
- Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem.
- Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits.
- Don't play loud blaring music in forests of jungle camps. You are a guest in that ecosystem and disturbing the locals (humans and animals) is not polite
